Burnout burns Paradise on the PS3

"Honey I blew up our son's Hot-Wheels "

B
urnout Paradise is the latest installment to the Burnout series which also mark's the game's debut into the two next-gen consoles, the X box 360 and the PS3. This review is intended for the Ps3 version though I doubt there would be any difference in the x 360 version as well.

Let's face it, when you think and come to know the game that is "Burnout", all thoughts and knowledge of regular racing games goes out the window. The only probable similarity that this game shares to the racing genre is that you actually need to win races to progress and get License Upgrades for better cars. However,Criterion has managed to change even that aspect of the game.Further shrouding Burnout's existence as a racing game. You are required to get only ONE placing in the races to progress. That is Number 1,Champion,Winner,Numero Uno. That right, you get zilch if you come in a race in anything but a number 1 placing.

When I first started out Burnout Paradise on my Ps3,the first thign that struck me was the abrupt dumping of you behind the wheels of a crappy beat up car. No intros,no guides, nothing. You sit in the car, (or at least control it) and an overhead voice claiming himself as "DJ Atomica" from Paradise City's "Crash FM" tells you what to do to start off. He tells you to go from where you are,to the nearest Auto Repair shop to get your car fixed up.Thats about it. You only hear more from him when you actually stumble upon a race point, burning route, stunt race point, etc.

Here you go driving and you stumble on to this point and the words "Start race" appear on your screen. You go ," Hmmm, what's this?" and your FM radio suddenly booms up and says "Oh thats a race start area" . Thanks Einstein like I didn't know that already.I don't really believe Dj Atomica's a radio DJ. the guy's gotta be spying on you 24/7 if he can perk up with advice and taunts at the exact time something bad befalls you or your car.

Anyways, conspiracies aside, Burnout Paradise features quite a number of events you can perform aside from the regular race that you do against other CPU opponents.I have to say my favorite would be the Stunt runs. Where you are required to perform stunts with your car and gain points by doing barrel rolls and super jumps. Get enough points by the end of the time limit and you are rewarded with a win on to your license.

Get enough wins, your license will be upgraded, allowing you access to better cars and so on. Online play pits you against up to 15 other players in a single race and you can race, slam, take down, and smash your opponent's cars to your heart's desire.Just be sure not to get smashed back. That's not the point of the game.

The only way this game could be any better than it already is,is to include in split screen multiplayer so you don't have to have an internet connection to smash another human being at the game.Lets just hope Criterion will think about that when they release the next game.

Post-Release of Grand Theft Auto IV

"Where's that #$%# fish that got away?"

Grand Theft Auto IV
, is the new successor to the GTA series brought to you from the good people of RockStar.

It's been a few days since the worldwide release date of the game and your truly is still awaiting his own copy. I unfortunately decided to get my copy off of a game company that listed the game on Ebay. Yes it meant that I needn't pay that much for those on retail but that also means I have to wait longer to get my copy. Due to the immense pre0orders the company had and the amount of time it takes for delivery, I'll be looking at another week's wait. Was it worth the sacrifice I wonder. Price over time.

Anyways, since I cant exactly answer the questions I have about the game for myself,I'll just have to list them here less I forget about them when I really do receive my copy.

-How does the game prove to be different than all it's GTA predecessors?

-What else can you do besides the usual car-jack-while-you-bitch-slap-hooker scenarios and activities?

-How does the main character's protagonist,Niko Bellic rise up in the ranks of society of Liberty City?

I guess for now I shall have to wait and see how everything goes for Niko to prove to us he's worthy of being called "next best" in the GTA series.

My head

Introduction of myself to the blogging community:

Recently I've decided to brainstorm on the number of ways I have at my disposal that can let me earn some money legitimately but not requiring me to pay taxes or having to commute from one location to another every day or so.Then it hit me. Like a bolt of lightning sent down upon me by the Greek God-of-all-Gods Zeus. I started to snicker as the my brain slowly started processing this new idea and digest it into tasteful bite-size pieces of information.

The realization was simple, obvious yet I've missed it up until this point in time. I have the internet! From there I took to processing more info, What can I get from the net? Will it be legit or illgal? Will I be scammed? The safest and most fool-proof way of earning revenue I reckon in the end, is to blog and be supported by Google Adsense.

Then my mind goes into overdrive, screaming at me ," Dude! You need people to click on your ads for you to earn money. How are you going to do that if you don't have something new to talk about , and a way to attract people?" Conclusion : - I need a topic which I love to talk and write about that can never get me bored.

By now your probably thinking , " Well, your as analytical as a psychopath, perhaps you could talk about your newest adventure of blowing things out of proportion or your latest escapade of brain activity?" I couldn't agree more with you. However, thankfully I do share some part of my anatomy with the rest of the "normal" teens my age. I for one am and have always been interested in all things tech and gaming. So,perhaps I could talk about that.

Thanks,Blogging community, for providing me with a place to rant and to generate income while doing so.I will start my first ( or second) official post of my blog by talking about the newest release of the console game , Grand Theft auto IV. Till then ' Cheers!
